The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) undertake rigorous quality inspections on independent schools using the same Department of Education framework as Ofsted. Bales is a member of the prestigious Independent Schools Association (ISA). ISI conducted an Educational Quality Inspection in March 2020. Comments from inspectors included the following:

My confidence really developed at Bales. I ended up getting A*AAB. The support I got from all the staff and teachers was fantastic, and I achieved my dream of studying Medicine at UCL!
Bales has been everything I could have hoped for in year 7. The dynamic approach to education at all ages/levels has aided both my academic and personal development and I will be sad to leave.
