November 3rd – Visit and talk from Solace Women’s Aid
The representative from the Solace women’s group gave a profound insight into the suffering which many women undergo on a daily basis and how they can be helped. Jorvell, a year 11 student organised the visit for us, after being inspired by reading what they do on their website. Extremely thought provoking.
Solace Women’s Aid is an independent charity working across London, providing life-saving support to more than 11,000 women and children survivors of domestic and sexual violence a year.
November 7: Year 12 and 13 Law group visit to the Old Bailey
Both those studying law and those who are not found this visit provided a real insight into the workings of the justice system. Not quite reality TV, but actually more real and in some cases a little shocking. Putting the textbook into practice along with a lot of novelty wigs!
